Quantity Surveyor- Required to join a large leading and award winning Civil engineering and tunnelling company based from a site near Uckfield. The company are an international business, winning awards on major projects they have completed. This company have been established for over 30 years with a £114 Million turnover and they deliver a high quality service in a range of areas including complex infrastructure projects.

This company are currently looking to expand their current workforce and they are hoping to employ a Quantity Surveyor who will be working on a £10m substation project that will last 1 year so experience with Earthworks, Roads, Drainage and Services is essential.

Quantity Surveyor Position Overview

  • Preparation of internal commercial reporting and any other reports which may be required
  • Preparation of valuations/applications for payment with supporting documentation
  • Preparation of Cost Reports to the Client with contractually compliant supporting documentation.
  • Preparation and management of subcontract and material procurement schedules.
  • Administration of subcontractor/supplier accounts
  • Agreement of final accounts.
  • Undertake the contract administration, including change management and maintain associated registers.
  • Identifying commercial risks, opportunities, value engineering and change.
  • Utilise the costing system.
  • Preparation of internal commercial reporting and any other reports which may be required.

Quantity Surveyor Position Requirements

  • Relevant Industry Qualification
  • General Civil Engineering experience
  • Commercially astute with knowledge of standard forms of contract and standard methods of measurement.
  • Proficient in NEC 3 Option B Contract
  • Experience using CEMAR
  • Computer literate with strong skills in Microsoft Office Applications
  • Good communication skills including presentations and ability to negotiate
  • Experience within a construction/engineering industry and commercial background.

Quantity Surveyor Position Remuneration

  • Day rate: £300 - £350
  • 23 day's holiday plus 8 days Bank Holidays
  • Discretional company bonus
  • Car Allowance for right candidate
  • Life insurance 4 x salary
  • Pension 5 % company 4% employee
